SYBA Travel Baseball 9U-14U

Shakopee Youth Baseball Association's Travel Baseball Program is built for motivated players who want to develop their skills, while having fun with their teammates, at a higher level of play. Designed for athletes ages 9 through 14, our program emphasizes fun, strong fundamentals, baseball IQ, and a love for the game while preparing players for the next level of competition.

Season

Travel tryouts typically occur in the second half of March. Practices begin soon after that with games beginning around May 1st and running through June. A team may play in up to two state tournaments in July.

Practices

Practices are typically 90 minutes long and are 2-3 times per week on Shakopee city and school fields.

games

SYBA Travel is part of Metro Baseball League. The season consists of 14 home and away games. Away games are typically within a 30 minute drive.

Tournaments

Teams typically play in four tournaments in May and June including one "hotel" tournament that gives athletes a chance to stay in a hotel with teammates within a few hours driving distance of home. Travel teams may also have an opportunity to play in one or two state tournaments in July. Those weekends are predetermined many months in advance and availability should be kept open if possible.

Uniforms

Home and away jerseys and one hat are provided by SYBA. The jerseys include the player's name and number. Players are responsible for providing their own pants, belt, and socks. Extra hats are available for purchase at registration.
