THIS IS AN AMAZING OPPORTUNITY FOR BASEBALL PLAYERS WHO ARE SERIOUS ABOUT ADVANCING THEIR BASEBALL SKILLS!

Shawn Wooten, a former Major League baseball player, owns and runs the Hit Dawg Academy in Chaska. Shawn played professional baseball for 17 years at both the Major and Minor League levels. He is currently a Minor League manager for the San Diego Padres. Shawn brings a wealth of experience and information to the plate. Over the past couple of years, Shawn has been working closely with players all over the Minnesota and Wisconsin area to improve their skills. Shawn personally teaches and trains all of his coaches, so that the same teachings are used across the board to ensure that skills and techniques are taught properly and consistently. Shawn is focused on making sure players know how to play the game correctly. His goal is to help kids advance their skills and achieve the highest level of play possible.  

What: Pre-season baseball skills clinics for players starting Saturday, December, 3rd 2011.

Who: Baseball Players ages 7 to 18 are invited and encouraged to sign up and take advantage of this great opportunity.

Location: Hit Dawg Academy- 312 Lake Hazeltine Drive, Chaska, MN 55318

Facility: Indoor 22,500 Square Feet with 30 foot ceilings, Long Hitting Tunnels, 2 Dirt/Clay Mounds, Large Turfed Infield Area

Camp Fundamentals: Hitting, Fielding, Throwing and All other Aspects of the Game

When:

7-9 Year Olds- Saturdays 9-10:30 AM

10-12 Year Olds- Saturdays 10:30 AM-12 PM

13-14 Year Olds- Saturdays 12-1:30 PM

15+ Year Olds- Saturdays 1:30-3 PM

Cost Per Player:

December through March- 4 month package $320.00/player

January through March- 3 month package $270.00/player

February through March- 2 month package $220.00/player

March- 1 month package $120.00/player

Individual Session: $35.00/session (Must Pre-Register to Attend individual Sessions)

At www.hitdawg.net/hitdawgacademy you will find important information about the Hit Dawg weekly clinics. We will post weekly recaps of what was covered during each session. Each player will receive an individualized plan on as things to work on at home prior to the next clinic. This will help ensure that the players, coaches, and parents even more to get prepared for the upcoming season!

Hit Dawg Summer Workouts

Join the Hit Dawg Instructors for summer workouts. During each workout,  players will be given valuable instruction and be able to work on their baseball skills. Each session the players will work on hitting, pitching, fielding, and other areas of the game.  Take advantage of the flexibility of this opportunity. Come to as many or few practices each week. There are no upfront costs, as you pay per session attended. This allows for flexibility for summer vacations and other obligations & commitments you may have.
 
When: June 13th through Monday, August 29th
 
Times: Monday & Wednesday- 11-1:15 PM
 
            Tuesday & Thursday- 12:30-2:45 PM
 
Location: Field location TBA- Will be held outdoors unless the weather does not allow. We will move indoors to Hit Dawg Academy if necessary.
 
Cost: $20/session (CASH OR CHECK ONLY)

Hit Dawg Summer Specialized Skill Clinics
 
Sign up for a specialized skill clinic, which will take place after each Hit Dawg summer workout! Each clinic will be limited to 4 players. A Hit Dawg instructor will run the clinic and will focus entirely on one skill, position played, or area of the game to give players very individualized training and instruction. Players will learn at a professional level of play. Daily Clinic Skill/Focus will be posted to our website in advance. Take advantage of this unique opportunity!
 
When: Monday & Wednesday- 1:30-3 PM
 
            Tuesday & Thursday- 3-4:30 PM
 
Cost: $40/player (CASH OR CHECK ONLY)

2011/2012 HIT DAWG TRAVELING TEAMS

The Hit Dawg Academy's philosophy is based on player development. It is important to know that our philosophy is NOT BASED ON WINNING. THIS IS A DEVELOPMENTAL OPPORTUNITY.  We focus strongly on fundamentals and the necessary mechanics needed to be successful in baseball. From there, winning will take care of itself. We started with one team for the 2009/2010 season, and expanded to four teams for our 2010/2011 season. Now we are expanding this opportunity to 8 teams. There is not try out. Anybody and everybody that wants to work hard on their baseball skills, and improve as a player is invited to join our team. Our staff is dedicated to getting you prepared to play at the next level. This opportunity is for players ages 7 years old to 18 years of age.

 
Practices will start on Sept. 1, and will go until March 1. The cost is $250 a month per player, plus a $125 initiation fee (covers uniform, helmets and other fees.) The monthly cost includes one weekend practice at the Hit Dawg Academy indoor facility with an optional weekday practice/workout, entry into 4 tournaments all over the country (hotel, airfare, and food is not included, and to be paid by the player), and instruction from some of the best coaches in the country. The players will have the unique opportunity to play in front of professional scouts, coaches, and college recruiters. Players can play in as many or as few tournaments as they are able to/choose to. In addition, we will do video analysis during practice and games for each player. This is a great opportunity for your player to participate on a competitive tournament team while receiving the best instruction and exposure available.
 
SPECIAL MONTHLY DICOUNT- We are offering a discount of $25 off per month for any player who joins one of our teams, and pays for the September 2011 payment by April 15th, 2011. If you take advantage of this offer your monthly payment will be $225. Taking advantage of this offer will save you a total of $150 for the season!
 
Any player who joins one of our teams will become an Academy Member. All Academy members will receive discounted lesson pricing with Shawn Wooten and the other Hit Dawg Instructors, discounted open gym fees, and other discounts on our services.

Shawn Wooten is excited to announce the Grand Opening of the Hit Dawg Academy located at 312 Lake Hazeltine Drive, Chaska, MN 55318 on December 18th from 2:00-6:00 PM. Shawn Wooten owns and runs The Hit Dawg Baseball Academy. The Hit Dawg Academy is a 22,500 square foot indoor baseball facility with 30 foot ceilings and long baseball tunnels. Come in and meet Shawn and the other Hit Dawg Academy coaches. Take a tour of our facility and enjoy some light refreshments. Players, bring your bats and take some live B.P., hit off of our machines, take some ground balls, and play some catch for free!
 
Shawn is a former Major League Baseball player who played professionally for 17 years, and helped the Anaheim Angels win the World Series in 2002. He is a former catcher and knows the game well. In addition to teaching youth players at the Hit Dawg Academy, Shawn is currently a Manager in the Minor Leagues for the San Diego Padres.
 
At the Hit Dawg Academy, our program for players is based on very sound philosophies. In our teachings we use video analysis to show what Major League Baseball players do to be successful. It is important for players to understand why we teach what we teach in order for them to advance their own skills. We believe there are two types of baseball players. One type is the very athletically gifted player and the other is talented, but needs to hone those talents in. Through our experiences we have realized that both types of players need repetition in the skill they are working on, but more importantly they need to be doing the skills correctly. So, our program focuses on practicing correct mechanics through drills that Shawn has seen professional players do and has personally done throughout his career. Each program we do is catered to the player's skill level, body type, position(s) played, and strengths and weaknesses. During the initial lesson we evaluate the player in all of these areas. In baseball you cannot teach everyone the same way because eveyone's strengths and weaknesses are different. There are some things in baseball that every good hitter or pitcher does the same, but it's how they get there that is the most important thing. Our philosophy is based on working with the player's strengths to give him the best opportunity to succeed over and over again.

Shawn and his coaches offer baseball and softball lessons. We do hitting, pitching, fielding, and catching lessons. We offer individual, 2 player, and 4 player lessons. For players 13 and under come in and get a 50 minute individual lesson for $60. For players 14 and older come in and get a 50 minute individual lesson for $80!
