Thank you all for your hard work this year umpiring the in house baseball leagues.  There were very few incidents this year and it is a testament to your talents and prefessionalism on the baseball field. 

The end of year checks are available.  If you have not already received your check, the checks can be picked up at the community center.  The checks will be available at the community center until next Monday.  After next Monday, you will have to coordinate with me to pick up your check.  

If there are any disputes about the amount of your check, please call me at 612-483-4218.  

Many of the Ball-Strike clickers have disappeared.  If you have one that belongs to the association, please turn it in to the community center.

With a little more than half of the in-house season complete, Umpires will be receiving a check for the games they have umpired through June 17th.

UMPIRES WILL ONLY BE PAID FOR GAMES THAT THEY HAVE CONFIRMED. To know if you have confirmed your game, look at the game schedules and make sure you name appears in the 'Ump Reported' column. If it does not appear, I have not recieved a confirmation that you have umpired the game.

Umpire checks will be available at my home on Monday June 21st after 6:00 p.m. You will have to pick up your check at my home. (516 Mint Circle) I have 13AA games on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday next week so Monday will be the best day to pick up you paycheck.

Umpires that are working games this week, report the games by 10:00 p.m. on Thursday June 17th to insure that you get paid for your games on this payday.

If you don't confirm your games until after June 17th, don't worry, you will be paid for them during the end of year check run around July 25th.

Baseball season is upon us.  Thank you to all umpires for your dedication to the Shakopee baseball program.  

A couple of notes to our youth umpires:

1)  To access the 'Umps Only' page, you must be logged in with user name 'Umps2010' (password was provided at training).  There is a 'Youth Umpire Guide' document on that page which should assist you with your questions regarding equipment boxes and other things to remember when umpiring a game.

2) After the game, E-mail me confirming the field where you umpired.  I need this to confirm your payment.  If you do not confirm, you risk not getting paid.  No one wants that to happen.

3) We will probably have two payments made during the course of the year.  Sometime in mid to late June, you will be paid for games umped to that point.  A second payment will be made following the final playoff game of the year.

The umpire shirts and hats distribution has concluded.  If you didn't pick up your shirt and hat, you will need to coordinate a pickup at my home.  I live at 516 Mint Circle.  My phone number is 612-483-4218. 

The final SYBA in-house youth umpiring schedules have been posted.  Please login as 'Umps2010' to view the schedules.  Any additional modifications, substitutions or game switches are the responsibility of the assigned umpire. 

Failure to find a sub or contact the umpire coordinator prior to noon on game day may result in the loss of future games.  

Missing your final scheduled game will eliminate you from playoff umping opportunities and/or future seasons.

Umpire training will be held on Sunday, April 25th at the Shakopee Middle School baseball field.  Training will begin at 6:00 p.m.

Umpire training is mandatory for 1st and 2nd year umpires.  Umpires with 3 or more years of experience are encouraged to attend to refresh their skills.
